I came here as a guest with expectations and an open mind. I found everyone more then helpful to make me feel at home and make my stay comfortable. The food was excellent! The hunting was even better then expected! Jay and Don took great care of me in the woods. I have had a great time and will be back soon. I feel like I have made memories, gained experience, and made new friends. I am glad I came!

Great week! Vern and the other guides worked hard all week and were very knowledgeable. Ranch house looks great and was both comfortable and convenient. Bonnie was great and the food was fabulous. The elk were plentiful and I had multiple opportunities. Thanks again for a great week.

Thank you so much for an outstanding week of archery elk hunting, and scenic Alberta beauty. This hunt exceeded my expectations each and every day! We were amidst elk on every single hunt. Getting within archery range of mature bull elk with 80 – 100 elk is nearly impossible, but with great stand locations, and a lot of help from Don, this occurred almost every day of the hunt! The food was fantastic, and despite walking, climbing and crawling, many miles each day, I think I gained weight this week as a result of Bonnie’s amazing cooking. I showed up as a stranger wanting to chase elk with my bow, but am leaving with great memories of the hunt, the scenic beauty of the Canadian Rockies, and great new friends that I sincerely hope to see again in the future. Thank you Vern for a great week I won’t soon forget!

Team McNeice! – This has been an outstanding experience for Ty and I. Frank worked hard to get us deer under 30 yards for Ty, and endured cold temperatures to do so! Great guide and hopefully we can get him with us next year. Bonnie, Ty loved the cookies and felt like he was at home, spoiled as usual! The rest of the team is totally committed and jumped in to help. Don’s humor was the icing on the cake! Vern and the gang were all great! Our cook Bonnie was really good too. This was my first time doing a guided deer hunt and it was even better then expected. Can’t wait to come back again!
Vern and the Gang – Anytime a hunt is over by 8:30 on the first morning, it is not just a good hunt, but a great one! The guiding and meals, were beyond great. The only issue I had is the hunt was over far too quickly! Best of luck for the rest of the season, I am going to try to return again next year.

Wow!! What a game changer for me. Had no idea of the amount of whitetail that I would see out here. Would have been happy with a smaller buck, but to get the five point buck that I did made my year! You guys gave first class service. Jay was patient with me and got within 150 yards of my buck. Never got my hands bloody, as Jay took care of everything. Jay also threw in some road trips as well! All food was excellent and Bonnie always put out a good spread – never left the table hungry!
Hunted a couple years with these guys, what a wonderful experience! In elk everyday! It was a wonderful atmosphere while hunting and at the cabin. Would recommend these guys to anyone and everyone.
I’ve spent time in elk camp with Vern twice – each were 10 day archery hunts. Once, my buddy had him as a guide and I simply spent time in camp with him. The next time that I returned to that outfitter, I did so with the request that Vern be my guide. Not only is he incredibly hard working – he’ll do everything he can to put you in front of a great critter – but he’s a phenomenal hunter and guide. Vern knows where the animals are, what they’re likely to do, he’s a good caller, and he’ll work his tail off to make your hunt a success.
My first trip to the land that McNeice Outfitting occupies was over 7yrs ago, and from that first trip, I’m proud to say that it has become a yearly stop in my outdoor calendar. The stunning landscape, abundance of “once-in-a-lifetime” animals and service/client care are second-to-none. Above all else, it’s the people behind McNeice Outfitting that make this place a premiere & trusted outfit.
I highly recommend this ranch for its sheer number of animals and quality people. My guide on both hunts was Vern McNeice. We didn’t kill an elk on my first hunt but I booked again the following year because of the overall experience I had encountered. We had great fun and I couldn’t wait to go back. Vern was hard working, an excellent hunter and was brutally honest in managing my expectations. We killed a big 6×6 that second hunt, which was a thrill of a lifetime!
I would encourage anyone interested in hunting with a high-quality outfit, with great guides and a tremendous outfitter, to seriously consider booking a hunt with Vern and his crew. They know their stuff, the land is full of large bulls and bucks, and nobody will work harder to give you that shot opportunity. And during the downtime, you’ll be spending time with quality people.
I’ve had the pleasure to hunt elk with Vern and his team on three occasions and have never left disappointed. The guides are first rate professionals and know the land intimately, so it’s not if, but when. Elk and deer are abundant on the rolling foothills ranch they hunt, and a little patience ensures you’ll get the opportunity you’re seeking. I know I plan to return the first opportunity I get.
I have hunted on many trips all over the world and this hunt ranks at the top of the list. Great hunting, comfortable accommodations, beautiful country and delicious food! Knowledgeable and hard working guides. I hunted there in 2017 and although I didn’t kill an elk I saw numerous elk and had several close encounters. I passed a good bull at 50 yards since I had seen several monsters. Vern and I stalked up to a big bull and were just about in bow range when the wind shifted and he was gone! When I got home from that trip I immediately rebooked and look forward to my hunt in September 2019!
