Archery
Every field that holds elk also holds deer! Hunters can expect to see upwards of 100 whitetail and 30 mule deer each day. We typically offer our archery deer tags as a combo hunt along with their elk hunt. With the elk hunt often slower during the mid day hours, this option creates a great opportunity to fill the day with another opportunity.
When bow hunting whitetail, bale blinds are utilized to put hunters close to the action on the edge of crop fields or game paths. Shots are similar to the elk with normal ranges of 15 – 60 yds. A nice 4×4 or 5×5 is often the result of patience as hunters often pass on younger bucks as their hunt unfolds.
Mule deer are found in unique pockets throughout the ranch and they are hunted using stalk and spot techniques. Wind and topography are key are guides will work to get their hunters within range. This is an opportunity to harvest a deer that is not located in many States.
Limited archery deer allocations are available so it is advised that hunters discuss the option of a combo hunt prior to their arrival in camp.

If hunters are looking for a fun hunt with lots of opportunities during the local rut, this is the hunt for you! Large numbers of deer on all of our properties create an exciting week. This is a great hunt for several buddies to hook up on and enjoy together. Hunters can expect to see big northern whitetails during their most active period. Spot and stalk techniques and blinds are once again used during this hunt.
We do not put hunters in blinds and leave them there for ten hours, as there is simply no need to do so. With numerous locations on the ranch, which hold both species of deer, guides will take their clients to multiple “hotspots” and often have several stalks throughout the day. Country that is wide open allows rutting bucks to be located at long distances. Our guides are experts at closing that distance and getting our clients ethical shots.
Most hunters are returning home with a whitetail trophy in the 150 class, although book deer have been taken. We strongly encourage our hunters to refrain from harvesting any buck smaller then a heavy 4×4 or mature 5×5 to ensure the quality sustainability in our area. Large areas of the ranch hold tremendous numbers of mule deer with harvested animals ranging in the 160 to 195 class.
With the daylight diminishing during November, the warm and comfy cabin is a friendly and inviting place to share warm meals, ale, and many a story! This hunt is great for all ages and it provides a memorable experience for all. Folks come into camp as new clients, but leave as friends!
