For years our staff have watched the coyote population in our area flourish. Abundant with beautiful pelts, this predator provides an exciting challenge for hunting while maintaining a healthy population for the local ranching operations. These sly animals are incredibly intelligent and crafty in activities each day. Always the opportunist, they take advantage of every opportunity to grab whatever prey is available in the area, including the decoys and calls from our guides!

Our WMU offers some of the most scenic views in Canada, with sprawling topography that includes river bottoms, crop fields with diamond willow surrounding them, and valleys and coulees which hold many coyotes. This is perfect country to set up and call where coyotes can often be seen racing in from over a kilometer. At times, several race in at the same time to be the first to devour that “wounded rabbit”, in particular later in the season when they start to band together during the mating season.
